Sadly, Dr Chambers is no longer working at SVMC. She has left the SVMC team to move her work closer to her home and we wish her all the very best.
1 January 2020 Billing Changes
From the 1st of January, the Australian Government has changed the classification of Samford Village for bulk-billing purposes. This means as of 1 January the Bulk Billing incentive item has reduced by 34%.
As a result of this Samford Valley Medical Centre will be making the following changes:
More strictly following it’s billing policy as outlined here, this means
Only bulk billing Children under 16, Pension Card Holders and DVA Gold card holders
Offering Health Care Card Holders a discounted fee
Privately billing outside of normal business hours, patient seen before 8:30am and after 5pm shall be privately billed
Slightly increasing the fees for private patient inline with our annual fee increase.
It is worth noting that the vast majority of consultation fees for Samford Valley Medical Centre have not increase in 2+ years.
We feel these changes are necessary to ensure the continued sustainability of the practice, be able to attract and retain highly skilled and well liked Doctors and ensure a high quality of care is delivered.
If you have any questions - please do not hesitate to contact our team to discuss this further.
